Coney Island Development Corporation (“CIDC”) is seeking a contractor (the “Contractor”) to perform supplemental street sanitation and maintenance services in the Coney Island amusement district from May through October. For the past few ywwwears, CIDC has provided supplemental street sanitation services during the summer season in the Coney Island amusement area, to supplement the efforts of the New York City Department of Sanitation (“DOS”) and the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation (“DPR”) in the maintenance and upkeep of the district. Maintaining the street aesthetic in Coney Island is an essential element of CIDC’s revitalization efforts as well as the goals and objectives set forth in the Strategic Plan.
CIDC plans to select a consultant on the basis of factors stated in the RFP which include, but are not limited to: the quality of the proposal, the experience and quality of any subcontractors proposed, demonstrated successful experience in performing services similar to those encompassed in the RFP, and the proposed fee.
Companies who have been certified with the New York City Small Business Services as Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises (“M/WBE”) are strongly encouraged to apply. To find out more about M/WBE certification, please call 311 or go to www.nyc.gov/getcertified.
Respondents may submit questions and/or request clarifications from CIDC no later than 4:00 p.m. on March 14, 2008. Questions regarding the subject matter of this RFP should be directed to amainardi@nycedc.com. Answers to all questions that may provide material clarification to the RFP will be posted on this web site by March 17, 2008.
