and we're now gearing up for another great summer season in Coney Island! We're moving ahead with key capital projects, developing new marketing for the area and expanding our outreach efforts. We're also actively working with the City to modify the current rezoning plan to better meet the needs of the community, local landowners and other stakeholders. B&B Carousell CIDC Web Site District Maintnance

B&B Carousell Restoration Begins

Coney Island's 89-year-old B&B Carousell is now undergoing a complete restoration. It will eventually return to Brooklyn as the crown jewel in the newly designed Steeplechase Plaza, located between Keyspan Park and the Boardwalk.

Continues

CIDC has again contracted with the Doe Fund, Inc. to provide supplemental sanitation services throughout the amusement area on weekends during the summer season, from May to October.

Student Writing
Competition

CIDC is sponsoring the 1st Annual Student Writing Competition for local students in grades 1-12. Winners will be announced this May and will take home tickets to the Brooklyn Cyclones, NY Aquarium, Deno's Wonder Wheel and Astroland.

Steeplechase Plaza Design Team Selected

CIDC has selected EDAW, Inc and Rockwell Group as the design team for Steeplechase Plaza, a project that will transform a 2.2 acre site just south of the Brooklyn Cyclones' Keyspan Stadium into an ideal setting for performances and public gathering.
