CIDC will contract with the Doe Fund, Inc. to provide supplementary sanitation services in the amusement area during weekends this summer. CIDC takes pride in maintaining the street aesthetic in Coney Island as it works to improve the Coney Island experience for residents and visitors alike.

The amusement district will soon play host to a colorful series of banners that will celebrate iconic neighborhood landmarks and traditions and the unique flavor of Coney Island. The vibrant images are expected to be on display by the end of May.
NYCEDC and NYC parks department commence restoration of historic B&B Carousell

Carousel experts and fine art movers arrived at the Brooklyn Army Terminal (BAT) in late March to delicately pack up Coney Island’s 89-year-old Bishoff & Brienstein (B&B) Carousell. The entire set of colorful antique horses and other carousel components have been temporarily transferred to Marion, Ohio, where they will be meticulously restored by a team led by Todd Goings of Carousels & Carvings, Inc. (C&C), a nationally recognized expert in the field.
CIDC announces student writing competition: my vision of the future of coney island

Coney Island Development Corporation is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the First Annual Student Writing Competition for students in Coney Island in grades 1 through 12. The goal of the competition is to encourage the youth of Coney Island to think of themselves as community stakeholders and to promote awareness of their roles in the future of Coney Island. Submissions of up to 500 words are being accepted now through April 18.
