Exciting News For Coney Island!

Dear Residents and Friends of Coney Island:
I am writing with some very exciting news.
This morning, the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) announced the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for amusement and entertainment operations in Coney Island. This RFP, released upon the announcement of a successful agreement between NYCEDC and Thor Equities for NYCEDC's purchase of approximately 6.9acres of property in the heart of the Coney Island amusement area, marks perhaps the most important milestone in our collective efforts to revitalize Coney Island following on the near-unanimous vote of support by the City Council a few months ago. With this week's announcements, Coney Island is on a clear track towards a brighter future, beginning in the Summer 2010 season which is just around the corner!
